General Information

History

The Parti marxiste-léniniste du Québec have been founded in 1970. It arises from the Parti communiste du Canada (Marxiste-léniniste), to which it is still affiliated.

The PMLQ is of «anti-revisionist» or «Stalinist» orientation , in the sense that he advocates a strict interpretation of the communist ideology, in accordance with the teachings of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin, by opposition, for example, to the ideas put forward by Trotski or Tito.

The party was known under the names of Parti communiste du Québec (marxiste-léniniste) during the 1973 General Election and of Parti marxiste-léniniste (Québec) during the 1981 General Election.
